Thompson Networks Invites Community to “Phil-A-Van for PhilAbundance”

DOYLESTOWN, Pennsylvania (December 6, 2007) — Thompson Networks, a Doylestown-based provider of voice and data solutions, announced that its “Phil-A-Van for Philabundance” food drive will begin on Monday, December 10th and continue through the holidays. The community is invited to bring non-perishable food items to the Thompson Networks van parked outside the company office at 10 Atkinson Drive, Doylestown from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Canned goods, such as tuna, beef stew, chili, and pork and beans are among the recommended items.

Philabundance is the region’s largest food bank and hunger relief organization. It delivers food to a network of more than 600 charitable organizations in the Delaware Valley. When Thompson Network sales representative, Scott Kernan, heard that the organization, a Thompson Networks customer, was experiencing a serious shortage of food, he decided to organize a food drive. He and his fellow Thompson Networks employees conceived the idea for “Phil-A-Van for Philabundance” so that the organization can continue to have a reliable source of nutritious food, especially during the holiday season.

“Philabundance relies on the generous support of all segments of the Delaware Valley community—individuals, corporations, foundations, as well as community groups—to help feed our hungry Delaware Valley neighbors,” said Dave Thompson, President of Thomson Networks. “We are pleased to do our part and urge the community to be generous in this effort.” For more information about Philabundance, call 215-339-0900 or visit www.philabundance.org.

The giving has already started as Scott Kernan, Account Executive for Thompson Networks (left) and Dave Thompson, President of Thompson Networks (right) began accepting food donations for Thompson Networks’ “Phil-A-Van for Philabundance” food drive. The food drive officially begins on Monday, December 10th and will continue through the holidays. The community is invited to bring non-perishable food items to the Thompson Networks van parked outside the company office at 10 Atkinson Drive, Doylestown from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
